They say that the quicker you decide to discover who you really are, the sooner you will discover who you really are.
I am going to tell you a story of a friend who is a now a profitable Fastlane entrepreneur. He doesn't want me to use his real name, so I will do this anyway and call him Addison. ( 😀 joking...maybe)
You see, Addison wants to be a Millionaire. He read The Millionaire Fastlane and decides he will only be happy in life if he has $1 Million in his bank account. $999,999 is not enough.
Over time he began to get disgusted by those Slowlaners and Sidewalkers he used to call friends. It is a shame that they aren't doing something with their lives. Can you relate?
While he was at home trying to figure out the next big business idea, they always partied on the weekends, played fun video games, went on weekend trips to fun places, partied and spent their money at night clubs, dating lots of people, and socializing with people from work.
Not Addison. They were low-lifes who didn't want to succeed in life by making lots of money. Can you relate with Addison?
Blood, sweat, tears, and a few broken bones later, Addison had enough with his 'friends'. He cut them off after the drunken bar fight so they wouldn't bring this negativity in his life.
Addison's phone stops ringing to get invited out on the weekends. Addison stops getting asked out by the girls he used to date because he tells them they are too materialistic. He is doing better things with his life.
Addison's bank account balance was at $0.00...but not for long. He has <sarcastic tone> the knowledge</sarcastic tone>.
Addison discovered a 'trick' to making money online. The real money came in selling Green Coffee pills and decides to wave of Dr. Oz miracle cure products as a rebill.
You see, the trick is to put in big letters that the customer gets a FREE bottle if they only pay shipping. According to some stupid law, you have to inform the customer that you're about to charge them $129 per month if they don't cancel within 3 days of their order. So Addison naturally puts this in the find print in a scroll box at the bottom of the page.
Addison is a problem solver and an entrepreneur.
Making an average profit of $325 per customer, Addison's business took off very quickly. For the next few months after his newly-gained success, Addison criticized those around him more and more. They see him making money and refuse to join him on this new path of life.
They are too busy partying, going on adventures, and getting frustrated with his preaching.
A year later, Addison strikes it big. He sells his supplement company and decides that he wants to party on the weekends, play video games, go on trips to fun places, party at night clubs, date again, and socialize with others.
..but who would he party with?
The "friends"
Chris once has a friend named Addison. You see, Chris is an epic slowlaner...some might even call him a sidewalker. But here is the thing. Chris doesn't value money in his life. It is not his goal to start a business.
What Chris really valued were friendships, relationships, and life experiences. He never tried to find his higher purpose, nor did he care. He was living in the moment and enjoying every moment of life. Some of those best memories in his life were during those 'slowlaner' activities.
That new BMW he leased made him feel important, and despite the materialistic value of it..he was happy.
But he grew to despise Addison. Addison just didn't 'get him'. He has a goal in life that is different from Addison, and nobody likes it when others tell them they can't do something. Addison constantly shot down his dreams, and told him he was going the wrong way.
Addison is getting really annoying by telling him what he should or shouldnt do.
Soon enough, Chris decided to end the friendship and decided to do what makes him happy...leaving Addison behind.
The end
Something happened with Addison's ego one day where he was no longer fun to be around. He was too busy pointing the finger at others for not supporting his goals, when in reality, he never learned to accept that other people have different goals in life, and it is OK to follow another path...as long as that is what THEY want to do.
At this point, Addison realizes that you don't need $1 Million in the bank to be happy. His friends were living the life they wanted from day one. While he has the money to have more freedom now, that wasn't important to them.
There is another way: Don't let other's opinions hold you back..and at the same time, it will benefit everybody to accept the other person's dreams and desires and not try to change who they are.
What if the feelings other people give you when they say you can't do it...are the same feelings they feel about YOU when you tell them that THEY are wrong?
Step outside of your box, and support others in achieving their goals...no matter what they might be. Your life may just turn around for the better.
Isn't it funny that I already know that when you finish reading this, you will begin to think "Wow, it sounds like Andrew is talking about me".
