Anyone knows how these guys that are in the malls peddling credit cards or insurance work?
Some years ago I did some online CPA 'campaigns' for credit cards, and I remember being paid like $10 for each person that signed for a credit card.
I quit because I thought it was peanuts... I mean... being paid just $10 for signing a client to a credit card... it's ridiculous!
In most cases, if you do CPC for example, a click can easily cost more than $1, and you won't have anywhere near 10% conversion rate for a credit card (and that's just to break-even, let alone make any profit)
So I quit doing that...
But now I see these guys in the malls peddling the very same credit cards I used to peddle online with CPA.
It doesn't make any sense...
If I wasn't able to do it profitably and I didn't pay salaries... how do they do it?
Do they work on commission only, or have a minimum salary?
Do they work all day or just X hours a day, the hours with more foot traffic?
How much do they make per each card they successfully peddle?
(I'm not looking for specific-to-the-number answers here, I just want to make sense of all this, have an idea how it works)
