I was wondering this for sometime now and would love to hear your thoughts.
Say you're making notebooks that are great for school students for example,
What would be a better name?
Something like moleskine.com (which is a real notebooks company) or something like schoolnotebooks.com?
The first name sounds more professional to me, but the second name tells you EXACTLY what the store is selling.
I was imagining if I got myself a great notebook for school and someone asked me where I got it from, it would be much easier for them to remember schoolnotebooks.com rather than moleskine.com. So wouldn't that convert into more sales?
I was just using this as an example but in general, what would be a better long-term company name, an invented/play on words name or a simpler and generic name but that tells the customer exactly what you are selling.
Or does it even matter?
