Hi All,
I've been saving money over the past two years and currently rent a studio apartment. I live in Westchester County, NY where housing prices are relatively high compared to those for the rest of the U.S. I would like to get myself into a house within the next two years. I'm looking to then start building wealth through residential rental income. I know nothing about real estate investing, and for that matter, nothing about real estate.
I need some guidance on where to start in terms of books to educate myself. There are tons of books on the market but I don't know which authors to trust. I know Robert Kiyosaki is popular but I'm not sure whether he does a good job to convey to people like me who have no clue about real estate and have just got started in investing and saving my money. I don't know if I can trust these authors that write about No Money Down strategies either.
I'm open to all suggestions. Can anyone provide a short list of books that will help me get started in learning about buying my first home and will offer a solid introduction to RE investing? I'm interested in real estate investing as it pertains to buying single family rental properties.
