B & P Isn't Worth $1000....
Why?
Well, here is the thing about B & P that many people overlook when wondering whether to come or not.
The typical mental masturbation that goes through most people's heads looks something like this:
Slowlane Thinking: "Hmmm ticket is $200, the plane will cost me $650, so that's already $850. The hotel will be another $200, and of course I will have to eat and drink, so that's another $200. I am now looking at $1250 for only 3 days. I better skip this year because I can invest that into marketing to grow my business to another $1000/month by then."
vs.
Fastlane Thinking: " B & P will cost me $1250 in money. But what is my EV (Expected Value - Snowbank should be proud at this point of the thread) of B & P... Let me work it out:
- I will meet 50 entrepreneurs, all of which have different skillsets. If I learn 1 thing from all of those 50 entrepreneurs, I will have 50 new things that could explode my business by X amount via traffic, sales conversions, revenue etc. etc.
- I will create friendships with 50 like minded people who want to share their knowledge with me. How hard is it to just find 1 person with these similar traits right now?
- I will get to create intimate relationships with people I know virtually and by doing so I would gain access to contacting them personally when I have a specific problem with my business. More importantly they would also know, that they can contact me to tackle their problems because now we are friends and I am not just a stranger on a forum.
- I will get to present on a topic that will provide lots of value to the people on the fastlane forum and while doing so, I would be increasing my social/presentation skills at the same time.
- During lunch breaks and nightlife parties, after intoxicating the fastlane members, they would get talking for 2 hours AMA style and during that period I would gain more then a few dozen tips that would help me explode my business within the next month.
- Since I was thinking of moving from my current location, I would meet people who live in those locations. Those people would become my good friends and all of a sudden I would have a room-mate vs. having to do it on my own.
- I would get to explore a new city and create lasting memories
- I have always wanted to meet the person who runs this forum... you know that MJ guy. Oh wait, I wanted to meet almost everyone on this forum...
Anyway, I am going to stop right there. Clearly the EV value of the trip heavily outweighs the $1000.
This isn't a thread to make anyone feel bad, it's just reality.
zend***phin got a nasty stomach virus and thus was not able to attend. So what did he do about it? He joined the group on skype and added a ton of value AMA style. There is a reason he is such a respected member on here and the skype call proved why.
I could go into depth on all the great things that had happened at B & P, but there are already several threads detailing that.
The point I wanted to make with my 300th post is simply this:
The only reason you didn't come to B & P is because you are chasing money. If you were chasing needs, you would have come prepared to give all your best stuff away not to get something in return, but because you can.
Let's be honest, if you can't make $1000 to go to a conference, then you probably aren't going to be an entrepreneur.
