In this thread I want to give an example and dissect WHY this small idea failed, hopefully to help myself and others reading this.
Here's the info:
This is a small branch off of my main site, and I have leeds and "some" communication with small gym owners. The service is website creation. We get a gym website up and running, populated with information, and hosted for the owner so they do not have to worry about dealing with this. $9.99/mo.
How we made contact:
I emailed the first batch of about 300 leeds of gym owners, some out of business, some already had websites at the time of contact.
We had 82 opens of the email, and only 8 of these made it to the landing page.
The email has a small header with our logo and reads:
Again, some of the text, etc led to this landing page (but only 8 of the 82 opened).
Perhaps all but 8 were shut down at this point for all I know. Some of the leeds were old. Looking back, I didn't realize only 8 made it to the landing page, so I am not so disappointed in the 0% landing page conversion.
SO, I want to know your insightful thoughts on the "why".
PS: Obvious bonus Question: Should this be continually pursued and advertised on different mediums, in a different manner, or offer? Do businesses like this no longer care about websites, and only use facebook at this point?
