I recently talked with a co worker of mine about something that worried me lately: why do so many people, in so many countries around the world, over the last years started to root for people who have heavy fascist tendencies? Whose speeches remember you of Hitlers speeches? And do so many not realize it?
And she said something that I hadn‘t thought about yet. She said, we (Germany) have gone through one of the most extreme cases of fascism with Hitler and the Nazis, we have removed fascism mostly ever since that, but most other countries have not gone through such a period.
So is it simply, that most countries do not know in detail how to recognize fascism?
Don‘t get me wrong, over the last years a fascist political party gained a lot of popularity here, but once they did and what they stand for came to light, at least we had huge demonstrations all over the country.
But yeah, even in a country survivors of concentration camps are still alive and to this day, even in their old age, try to help prevent something from this ever happening again, you have these survivors warn people that it feels like back then again.
This is not meant to start a political debate, as these are not allowed and not something I‘m interested in. It is more about why do people fall for these things? I mean we now have the internet and can research what happened in the past, all over the world, fascists always use the same tactics, and yet people to this day fall for it. Is this another form of scripted thinking?
No matter where you live, if your country ends up under fascists, most of us would probably not be able to create or run Fastlane businesses. We would be forced to live according to a Script, instead of being manipulated to live according to one that we can escape. Just some thoughts.
