why is Canada still not hurting

I know most of you guys are American yet just curious why you think in regards to real estate our bubble seems mostly intact. As a canadian I always thought our real estate market somewhat mirrored Americas. Using Vancouver bc as an example we are returning to the days of bidding wars. We did suffer a minor drop beginning a couple years ago yet it appears all systems are ago again.. We did not rely on sub prime loans or ARMS yet I am truly suprised that it appears at least personally(own several homes) that we were only slightly stung. thx
