Group,
I've been reading up on the Ready to Drink/Premixed Cocktail market. It is a fast growing segment of the liquor/spirits business. Lots of big players in the game but also lots of new and innovative people joining the party. As an example, SkinnyGirl Margaritas just sold out for an undisclosed sum to a major distributor. Way to go Bethany! She was Fastlane and didn't even know it!
My questions are these: If you could identify a problem that needed solving in this market or serve the market better than it is already being served could this be a viable business to enter? It definitely would take time and money to get things moving, perfecting drink recipes, distributing, etc. The market is big enough for others to enter. The barriers to entry are there so not everyone is going to try. It could meet the CENTS criteria.
I brainstormed all day about what I would do, the drinks I would offer, who my target market would be, a name for the business, marketing ideas, etc.
Does anyone here have any experience or insight into this type of business? Thanks for your input!
David
