My team and I created a delivery web application that we launched just last Saturday called Grabgenie (grabgenie.com). Grabbers are the couriers and they signup on the site and create delivery cards based on the places around them. Shoppers can simply order the delivery card from the grabber and add any extras they want (mainly from restaurants). We only made it available for a zip code in Portland, OR, which allowed us to really target the area. It got a great response from grabbers (people looking for work) and shoppers.
Unfortunately though the proof is in the pudding and although we had over 200 grabbers pre-signed up, not a single one has created a delivery card (we have sent out emails before and during launch, prepping grabbers on how and when to set-up a delivery card). We talked with as many as would talk with us, and found they dont want to do the added step of creating something, rather they only want to deliver items. Makes sense and luckily for us this is our mvp and we can adapt.
So currently we are creating custom grabs, where shoppers can go on the site and just tell us what they want and we will ping all available grabbers in their area. We are hoping by taking the "work" from the grabbers that they platform will become lively, and if not we will continue to adapt.
I know the best feedback is from customers, but Ive found alot of great advice on here and would love some outside feedback and perspective. Thanks
