WTF:
- A typical article is 900 words long
- Takes me 2 hours to rewrite with quality in the voice of target audience
- I underbid for the sake of "experience" at $10 per article and after the Upwork fees I get $4/hr
- Now I am asked to do 5 articles a day
- I feel my vocabulary enriching significantly after writing a couple articles
- My paraphrasing skills are shooting through the roof
- I realized that there is so much more to understanding the target audience
- I get to practice copywriting in the headers of the articles
- My name is not Rakesh, my time is worth more than few pennies and I want to develop copywriting skills not content writing ones
- I cannot deliver 5 articles a day with high quality
- This can not last.
Should I
- Take the client off of Upwork directly to paypal (He offered that initially, I refused to build my reputation on Upwork)
- Charge the client $20 per article (he mentioned that's his budget)
- Do this for few weeks to build vocabulary, practice content wrtiting, and learn to work with a client through Upwork.
- Deliver few more articles, cut ties with him (nicely + get feedback), and write it off as experience?
- Fail faster.
