PARKED
Hello Fastlaners, Entrepreneurs and general sycophants (of the good sort)!
Not so brief intro: I've just turned 23, and when I look back at my life, it's amazing what a "F*ck it I'm going to change this" attitude can do. I went from a smart and sociable but chubby, nerdy, tres low esteem guy to a smart but fit, nerdy, confident outgoing guy over the years, through sheer brute force of will.
I've achieved quite a few things, so I'll list them here (as they hook onto "skills", in case any of you want to skill swap or just ask for advice):
1. Being from a very impoverished area in the UK (my high school did worse than a nearby school where you sent expelled kids , I wanted other youth to know they could do better, when I succeeded. I started a volunteering organisation, and we now have helped 1200+ young people move up a step in life, using our 350+ member base.
2. I'm a two-left footed martial artist
3. I'm pretty in with the startup scene in London, I run tech products for one mid-level startup and am helping with the business development for another.
4. I felt sick to my stomach of the "system", and took two years out before starting University. I made some money, learnt how to invest, and having learnt from my mistake, have done good off my tiny initial investment. I'll be using this money to fund any ventures.
5. Most important of all - I'm currently impassionated by Demarco's book (thanks man!) and my business mentor, and have started a small niche business. I also have another idea for a business that ticks plenty of his CENTS categories, and may be launching that in a few months too.
What do I want from here? To be part of a community that can drive patterns of thinking deep within me, and to give something back in return.
What do I want in the long run? To fulfill multiple needs, and make millions in the process. To give back to young people, they are part of a materialistic, stupid a$$ system that takes away all their entrepreneurial spirit (which is re-branded "hustling") and further impoverishes them.
I hope this doesn't come across as boasting, I'm a sucker for putting myself down and not understanding that I have actually achieved a fair bit of good, but I absolutely know I am nowhere near end-game.
I'm always happy to meet people, especially on this forum where we could share so much, so PM me and I'll send you my skype, or if in London, we can grab a hot choc!
Always keep your chin up, and keep learning!
