I have been a programmer for 7 years and had built pretty cool apps on my own just as a hobbie hping that one day I can turn one into a product worth selling. I've worked in corporate america for the last 4 years as a programmer as well but now I just feel I have to get my own thing off the ground and now.
Just recently I have re-read the book and thought I could run my thought process my those with some experience here.
So I've recently ran into some issues with a certain industry, mainly cost and how much control the sellers have. I believe customers should drive this market more by being able to choose from a larger pot of producers and not just the ones with tons of years and money behind them. At the same time producers that are just starting out shouldnt have to go through working for some large company to get started.(There are some awesome freelancers that just dont get the time of day they deserve)
I've ran some numbers:
When I get 25% of the producers in this market to make one sell every month for 12 months this could produce 20 million in revenue. And save the consumers alot of dough and time because of the middle man isnt in the way.(I know I'd be the new middle man but at a lower cost and ease of getting the sell done)
There is only one other company that I have found doing what I want to do but I believe their pricing model sucks. They have a few sells that I am aware of but I would never purchase at the price point they've set. So they have truly proven the market, I think???
I've started building this application but just wanted to hear some feedback from you all on my reasoning for wanting to do this. Would this be enough reason for you to jump into something like this? As I'm writing this it does sound wonderful but please ask me questions. I know there is somemting I'm not thinking of. And not to mention scared shitless but I know I can add value.
