Hello I'm Rice from Vancouver BC. I'm 26 years old. I've just started learning about RE investment in January this year. Since we went to one of Robert Kyosaki's seminar, my girlfriend and I have been planning our RE investment plan. We read RE blogs, research on the internet, and read forums like thefastlaneforum to educate ourselves. I can say we have quite a bit of information, but we just couldn't get the plan started. I'm starting to get frustrated, until I stumbled upon this site seeing the big message on the front page of this forum saying "Are you on the slow lane, cutting back your starbucks, buying used cars? ..." That really motivated me to get started, whether it's finding help on a forum, join an investor club, or find a partner to work with. It's really sad to see once we thought our future was bright when we first graduated from university until today my girlfriend stopped drinking starbucks, and I just bought a used car and started clipping coupons. We are exactly what is described in the homepage message.
We sort of know what our obstacles are. We live in a city where housing prices is the most expensive in North America. Hence we decided not to invest in Vancouver. We've been researching and we've decided to invest in Texas or Florida. Relocation is a big obstacle for us. It's a lot of anxiety to go to a foreign location to invest, rehab, and do rental deals. Our second obstacle is money. We don't have a lot of capital. We only have enough to invest in middle to lower end in Texas. We are also anxious about losing that money too.
Thirdly, apparently we have little motivation to go on the fast lane.. Our motivation just fades away.. by life... every day life.. sad sad
Anyway, I'm here to learn from others and hopefully to get started in RE investment! Nice to talk to you all and I'm happy to be here. :smxB:
