@Xeon let's say tomorrow everything you say is right.

And he gets arrested today for a bunch of stuff - straight to jail for life.

What single thing will have changed about your life?

In what way have you become happier, healthier, wealthier?

In the links below all your posts is a progress thread from 2017, what has happened since then?

One day you will be old and dying and you'll back with a ton of regret at the years of mental time and energy you gave to stuff like this.

Focus on what you can control, ignore the rest, and start today.

You can always tell the people who have been completely lobotomized by the anti-Musk agenda. Armed with their Guardian subscription, these are likely the same people who still think the Covid vax is "safe and effective" and are still trying to convince you of the same.

And the haters always seem to have .000000000000000000001 the level of success as him, and that's measured back in 2000 pre-Tesla.

What are you working on yourself Xeon?

He doesn't do business-- he only talks about business.

The Musk entrepreneurial criticism is akin to the millionaire pro athlete getting booed from the fat bus driver who still lives at home with his parents. Half the cars in my town are Teslas, but oh, "he's a grifter" says the ANON loser on Reddit from his 1-bedroom apartment.

That said, there are many entrepreneurs who I can't stand, such as Bezos, Zuck, and two-face "sell your first born" OLeary.

But I still respect their entrepreneurial accomplishments and don't dismiss them.

There are two types of people: some publish a significant body of technical papers, and some publish divorce papers.

There are two types of people: Those who get things done, and those who criticize those who do. This thread gives evidence to those who haven't accomplished a damn thing in their lives, and gather self-worth in hating on those who have.

I'd bet 7-figures that every Musk hater on here doesn't own a business, and if they do, it probably isn't worth more than $50K.

Again, you can hate the man for his politics or his persona, but dismissing his business accomplishments is massive intellectual dishonesty.

IMO, the critics are frauds compensating and projecting for their own failures. I may hate Zuck, but he's done 1000X more than I will ever. I don't lie to myself, but it's fun watching some of you lie to yourselves.

Brilliant post.

Instead of micro analyzing how everyone is bad, focus on what you can control: your own actions. Become better. Do better.

It doesn’t matter what I think about Elon, because I don’t think about him a lot. We don’t hang in the same circles… lol. But I do obsess about my own business, how I suck as a leader when an employee doesn’t work out, how I suck at scaling it another 10x, how I suck at marketing myself… while also celebrating wins as I get better and get excellent at some things.

The internet is obsessed about finding someone to analyze and judge. But at the end of our lives we only regret things WE didn’t do.

Also @MJ DeMarco is 100% on point, all the haters aren’t business owners and simply don’t get how hard it is what Elon has done. Hate Elon or love him, is irrelevant.

Genius move! His head of advertising announced last week they were losing as much as $750,000,000 a week and he tells the main source of his company's income to go F*ck themselves.

Peak entertainment.

It is $75 million (not $750m) and it is "by the end of the year" - not each week.

Plus it is maybe.

Screenshot 2023-11-30 at 15.19.19.png

Also, pretty clear Elon's move here is an app that actually has free speech.

I don't think he is sweating 75 million in Disney woke dollars.

This is a long term play.

First - become the app people trust the most.
Later - monitize it well.

I’m trying to guess what Elon is thinking…

You are overthinking what he's thinking.

You're trying to tell me HOW to run my company because you don't like some of my opinions?

Go F*ck yourself.

No one is going to blackmail him over his values and principles, and what he wants X to stand for, even if it is a bullhorn for the most vile statements.

In other words, he told you what he is thinking.

See below... mental gymnastics, not needed.

As if...
  • Achieving a 10x in valuation for Tesla investors
  • Selling over 1.2million Model Y's in 2023 (the most sold car of the year, ahead of the RAV4 and Corolla)
  • Launching over 348 rockets into orbit
  • Buying and then turning Twitter around into a public town-square defying global censorship attempts and amassing over 600 million active monthly users
wasn't enough...

He also invented a widget that sits inside a paralyzed person's skull and lets them control a computer with their brain.

Please carry on about how much of a grifting fraud he is.

Elon has shown uncanny ability to do well in business. This move and the way he handled himself is entertaining but I’d love to understand how it plays out for him in business for X.

What’s the angle?

Charge more for being on X to each individual user?

Find other advertisers by providing free speech platform?

I’m trying to guess what Elon is thinking…

I think he makes enough elsewhere to just run this with a "freedom of speech" first mindset.

It is the same concept as what others have done but for total different reasons...

Screenshot 2023-11-30 at 16.02.32.png

Why would Jeff Bezos run a newspaper at a loss - a chance to control what gets said.

Why would Elon run Twitter at a loss - a chance to allow things that should be said to get said.

These guys don't need the money, it is a bigger goal first.

do you believe Elon's claim to have done more for the planet than anyone? Alternate question

Not sure, I haven't researched an answer as the answer is not relevant to my life.

do you really think electric cars are saving the planet?

Once his half-baked crappy products have plateaued in terms of attracting investors' money, he loses interest in those products/companies and starts the next one.

Here are the actual stats...

Screenshot 2024-05-28 at 12.08.04.png

97.8% success rate.

He has also has ran the business for 22 years.

Guess who is who.
Some people sit behind a desk all day coming up with theories and doing “science”

Some people leave the house, take some risks and send rockets into space and make electric cars cool

Starlink alone is more impressive than probably any other business started in the last 10 years and all these haters in this thread have completely forgotten to mention it because compared to starting a successful car company and then also starting a rocket company kinda overshadows it a bit

Oh and his other little side project twitter is still working even though he fired everyone and all the news articles kept saying it would break and go out of business and distract him from his other businesses

I wouldn’t say I’m a fanboy by any means although this post will get me accused of it by his haters, but seriously, what he’s created in such a short period of time is insane

His modus operandi is simple: make a half-baked version of a futuristic product (electric cars, space shuttles whatever), then hype it up to the moon to get investors' money. And this is where and how the majority of his wealth came from. Rinse and repeat.
Yup, he promises stuff and then he makes an electric car, and then makes a rocket that goes into orbit that can land itself. Then asks investors for money and that’s where his wealth comes from. Then he starts another company and does the same thing. What a scammer.

His forte isn't in producing products or services.

Yeah, he never actually makes a final viable product.

Do you even realize how ridiculous you sound?

Lol Disney. Every single movie they release is fighting for a top 10 record...

...top 10 box office bomb record that is. It's hilarious to watch. Their latest cartoon came out and they can't even get families to watch it. And yet some terrible video game movie about murderous animatronic robots comes out that is rated R and stomps all over the box office. It's absolutely awesome.

I have connected and chatted with all kinds of people for business growth on LinkedIn. Hell, what I am doing now only happened from finding and chatting with someone on LinkedIn. I'm probably going to get a cheque in February equal to more than I made working entire years during my youth and early 20s. I love LinkedIn. Where else can I literally get into direct messaging with C level executives at companies?

*Oh, and in the spirit of the thread. Hey Disney, go get f**ked!!!!!

Elon Musk. The greatest scammer in the history of mankind. Scams his way to the title of the world's richest man openly in full view of the world and has millions worshipping his feet while he's at it.

His modus operandi is simple: make a half-baked version of a futuristic product (electric cars, space shuttles whatever), then hype it up to the moon to get investors' money. And this is where and how the majority of his wealth came from. Rinse and repeat.

Once his half-baked crappy products have plateaued in terms of attracting investors' money, he loses interest in those products/companies and starts the next one.

His forte isn't in producing products or services. It's in showmanship and hyping things up. A true master psychopath and conman, the kind you read about in Robert Greene's book The 48 Laws Of Power.
Elon musk has always been an underdog.

Silicon valley believed that his ideas are crazy. Wall street gave him a F rating. Tesla was the most shorted stock by fund managers.

NASA saved him in 2008 and Tesla survived after getting its factory set up in China and accelerated in production since 2018.

Looking back I think Elon Musk is an exceptionably remarkable entrepreneur whose only mistake is trying to start a car manufacturing business in U.S.

If he moved Tesla to China from day one it could be very different.

I saw something that said their last 13 movies have lost money

It's their last eight and it's around $900,000,000 they've lost. However their company profits grew by 4% per quarter.

So that tells me that Disney movies are just very expensive ads for their toys and other crap they sell.

Questions for the forum...

Referencing the video Fox shared, do you believe Elon's claim to have done more for the planet than anyone? Alternate question, do you really think electric cars are saving the planet?
TLDR: No, Elon didn't do more for the planet than anybody else. And electric cars probably won't save the planet.

Longer version:
The claim that he has done more for the planet than anyone else is ridicules. First, it cannot be proven. Secondly, even if you assume he is talking about CO2 reduction, the claim is not true. All his ventures cause huge amounts of CO2. The worst is probably SpaceX.

In addition, he uses diversionary maneuvers such as the Hyperloop or the Las Vegas Loop to prevent or at least delay an improvement in local public transport (a real reduction in CO2 emissions).
By the way, Elon often makes ridiculous claims (FSE in 2018, knowing more than anybody about manufacturing, etc.).

In general, electric cars alone will not save the planet. As long as all other electrical devices are not powered 100 percent by clean electricity, all e-cars will run on fossil fuels. Unfortunately, this is entirely ignored in studies and in the discussion about e-cars. Even though an electric car is charged by a solar cell, it takes clean electricity away from other electrical devices.

The disadvantages for the environment due to the need for lithium are also serious for the environment. I doubt that there is a simple idea that will magically reduce our CO2 consumption.

Some of these takes are so bad they don't even belong on Reddit.

These are the lovers of truth on the forum? This is what independent rational thought looks like?

Given the standards people here are holding Musk to, one wonders what standards they have for themselves or their own business.

Ok, I'm done wondering now. Back to work. Bless your hearts.

I assume Isaacson and Vance wrote biographies.

Me fail English? That's unpossible.

Yes, biographies.

Nope, it's a sign that I haven't drunk the Elonaid and can detect bullshit at a hundred paces. I used to be a fan, then I started listening to what he says. #GoFigure

Anyways, it's a moot point. When he's in prison for fraud maybe you'll agree then, maybe you won't. Who cares?
If he ends up in prison for fraud, I'll then want to form an opinion on what and how it happened, might be an interesting story. For example, I very much enjoyed books like "Billion Dollar Whale", "Bad Blood", "Flash Boys" etc.

At the moment, Elon is just a crazy (but immensely successful) entrepreneur to me. And we all got some crazy in us. I'd only want to know and learn how he's managed to accomplish as much as he has and borrow some of that for my own business. By the way, I spoke to people who were friends with Steve Jobs, read his Biography and the consensus remains he was a giant a**hole of a human. Yet I still learned a ton from him on business.

The point is this:
Look at your own line of arguments in a very brief back/forth with me!

  1. You clearly know that I was referring to Biographies even though I typed up AutoBiographies, yet you chose to use that as a jab to me without addressing the key issue. You didn't read any of his biographies. Which invalidates your previous comment on them being useless self-promoting pieces.
  2. I've asked how his comp package would bankrupt Tesla and you chose to say nothing to that. It is a classic "cherry picking" or "quote mining." It's a logical fallacy where someone selectively chooses small parts of an argument or evidence that support their position while ignoring the rest that might contradict it.
  3. What you call "can detect bullshit at a hundred paces" could well be media curated and supported by your own confirmation bias readings.
As to me, at the moment I am uninformed on Elon's problems. Which is the whole point. I am not here to fanboy on Elon being some biblical saviour for humankind. I am simply pointing out that you, @Roli are too a human, have your own flaws and from what I read here you seem strongly biased against Elon. Which is just a waste of your time. But it's your life... What will you accomplish today to make your life better?
