You're doing fantastic, man! That is well above average!

I should hope so, I haven't missed a workout in 12 years, it's no accident :p

Volume, intensity, and consistency are a cure-all; health, wealth, and relationships.

@heavy_industry You may have mentioned this already, but do you have a whoop or an oura? It puts your sleep stats right before your face and makes it hard to ignore reality.

bonus tip: On days you get less sleep (or any day really - I do this 90% of days) try out an NSDR (non-sleep deep rest). It sounds woo-ey I know, but the data is solid and makes an immediate and undeniable positive impact.

Definitely something I'll invest in the future.

I'm a very scientifically oriented person, but as of recently I've started to pay more attention to the traditional stuff.

Let's take for example fasting: for thousands of years people across cultures have somehow known that it has miraculous benefits.

It took billions of dollars of funding, cutting edge technology, and a team of geniuses to figure out that yes, indeed, fasting induces autophagy and apoptosis and can cure cancer, reverse age, and has 10 other benefits which would have previously been considered impossible by standard medicine.

How did we know this for thousands of years is completely beyond me.

Something similar may be happening with meditation/yoga. We just don't have the science yet.

Q2 has been completed

Original goals:

Q2 Goals:
  • conquer caffeine addiction
  • conquer nicotine addiction
  • score +95% diet adherence (was ~70% in Q1)

Alright... I'll try to not be too hard on myself:

1. Failed to conquer caffeine addiction.
  • but kept the dose to a very low level

2. Failed to conquer nicotine addiction.
  • but switched from vaping to chewing gums

3. Failed to score +95% on diet adherence.
  • but scored 87% adherence (67/77 days)

Although I'm very tempted to feel like a massive failure for not hitting my targets, I have to admit that I'm very proud of the third achievement.

87% diet adherence for 3 months is perhaps the best I've ever had in my life. That's almost 20% more than what I've managed to do in Q1.

In addition to that, I've been training extremely hard (I'm sorry that I haven't logged my training in this thread as well).

As a consequence of my training and diet, cognition and mood improved significantly. I think more clearly, I express myself more clearly, I am a lot more effective when I work.

I've also got 2 gold threads in the span of a few weeks, which I will use as further evidence to support the idea that my critical thinking skills have improved. :playful:

So with that being said, I declare Q2 to be a partial victory.

And any step taken in the right direction counts.

6 more months until the end of the year. To victory!

You're frickn awesome bro.
You improved so much and stayed very dedicated.
Your addiction-beating-progess is also really not a joke, even if you "failed" your goals.
I salute you.
To the next Quarter!
