Referencing the video Fox shared, do you believe Elon's claim to have done more for the planet than anyone? Alternate question, do you really think electric cars are saving the planet?
No, not really. That's just delusional marketing fluff. Electric cars are still polluting the planet, especially when you consider the natural resources and pollution involved in battery manufacturing.
However, it's worth noting that Tesla has helped bring the topic of sustainability to the forefront.

Additionally, we're not exactly saving the planet. No matter what we do to earth do you think the planet gives a shit? If the planet decides to unleash earthquakes, tsunamis, or diseases, we are as dead as Julius Caesar. Nobody no matter how strong can save the planet (that's a marketing buzzword); we're simply trying to preserve our habitat.

That being said, I am a big fan of Elon and I believe his Twitter project to provide a democratized platform is very important in today's day and age.

Once upon a time, there was this slogan "I may not agree with a word you say but will defend to the death your right to say it!" attributed to Voltaire (but you can never be sure).

Now we have gone to an era of beeps on every F*ck, woke and right-wing propaganda, and eco chamber Social media and Google searches that confirm our monkey brain biases on every occasion.

So the Elon Twitter/ X project is a move in the right direction to give everyone compliant with the law a voice.

I don't necessarily care for Elon.

Elon is 100% correct here and it will be interesting to see how "regular" people think about the blackmail, politics in business and in marketing....

Journalists have basically always been scammers. The main reason that ideas spread is because they're useful to people in power.

Also, I don't use X but I have heard people complain that bot traffic is back full force since the acquisition. Those who use X, have you had a similar experience?
Have been posting actively for past two days (for an idea in mind).

I don’t know if bots have been active in the past. They do exist now. It is not so much of a concern because it is not difficult to sniff them out. They will just follow you and try to dm you.

But I think the problem is X is relatively lack of genuine communication. It is more or less blatant self-promotion and hustling for more followers. It literally feel like being in Grant Cardone’s dystopia: Sell or be sold.

LinkedIn feels the same. I think @Andy Black was noting this the other week?
LinkedIn has always been a bit of a strange platform. Business folks and employees post weirdly. "We're delighted to announce we've been nominated for blah blah blah."

I've noticed lately my feed is full of LinkedIn influencers teaching people how to create content so it's more engaging etc. A lot of it's great advice, but I prefer just posting whatever comes to mind and not having a content calendar etc.

I have connected and chatted with all kinds of people for business growth on LinkedIn. Hell, what I am doing now only happened from finding and chatting with someone on LinkedIn. I'm probably going to get a cheque in February equal to more than I made working entire years during my youth and early 20s. I love LinkedIn. Where else can I literally get into direct messaging with C level executives at companies?

*Oh, and in the spirit of the thread. Hey Disney, go get f**ked!!!!!

Haha. It seems that way but I think it's way better than that. I get quite a lot of business from LinkedIn and it's from referrals or people DMing me after reading some of my posts.

Questions for the forum...

Referencing the video Fox shared, do you believe Elon's claim to have done more for the planet than anyone? Alternate question, do you really think electric cars are saving the planet?
TLDR: No, Elon didn't do more for the planet than anybody else. And electric cars probably won't save the planet.

Longer version:
The claim that he has done more for the planet than anyone else is ridicules. First, it cannot be proven. Secondly, even if you assume he is talking about CO2 reduction, the claim is not true. All his ventures cause huge amounts of CO2. The worst is probably SpaceX.

In addition, he uses diversionary maneuvers such as the Hyperloop or the Las Vegas Loop to prevent or at least delay an improvement in local public transport (a real reduction in CO2 emissions).
By the way, Elon often makes ridiculous claims (FSE in 2018, knowing more than anybody about manufacturing, etc.).

In general, electric cars alone will not save the planet. As long as all other electrical devices are not powered 100 percent by clean electricity, all e-cars will run on fossil fuels. Unfortunately, this is entirely ignored in studies and in the discussion about e-cars. Even though an electric car is charged by a solar cell, it takes clean electricity away from other electrical devices.

The disadvantages for the environment due to the need for lithium are also serious for the environment. I doubt that there is a simple idea that will magically reduce our CO2 consumption.

Basically:
We need nuclear-fueled (hopefully fusion someday) hydrogen cell/electric hybrid cars instead.

Twitter bots problems are much more severe than I imagined.

I am working on a crypto project and received many DM on promotion offers.

These are accounts sitting on 100k of "bots fans" who charge you money for tweeting about your project.

Well, well, well. It looks like the curtain is falling away to reveal the fact it was just a man playing with an organ all along. The "genius" Musk could well be on his way to jail for a 40 billion dollar wire fraud and he's still trying to take $56 billion dollars out of Tesla as a bonus. This bonus would represent more than half of Tesla's lifetime revenue (That's revenue folks, not profit). When the board said, "Are you F*cking kidding me?" He simply sold a bunch of stock and now wants to make Tesla - the company that never advertises - spend $55 billion dollars advertising with Twitter. LOL.

The SEC is now investigating Tesla for the exact same thing as the Nikola Truck's founder and the woman who set up the fake medical company went to jail for. They too hyped up their companies with a load of bullshit promises, then cashed out when the stock prices peaked. This is more commonly known as wire fraud. Enron Musk, anybody?

As I've said for many years, Elon Musk is a fraud, he is not a business genius, he is a grifting genius. He has built a cult around himself and they'll do anything for him, including defending his questionable - and probably illegal - actions. When somebody recently posted a video of him dismissing a valid set of tough questions about Tesla he'd been asked by saying, "I'm not answering those questions because I don't see 'Business INSIDERS' as a valid publication," the little Muskavites on Twitter were all praising him as if he had just cured AIDS, cancer, and world poverty all in one go. When in fact he'd dismissed legitimate concerns about the fiscal state of Tesla.

This is the genius of Musk, he is excellent at getting hordes of people to believe his bullshit. He talks about freedom of speech and self-driving cars, but it's all hype, he's just laughing at the poor suckers who are pouring their life savings into his soon-to-be worthless stock. After this latest stunt with Tesla, it's hard not to believe this wasn't the play all along. Buy Twitter and use it to syphon money out of Tesla's coffers into his very deep pockets.

Hopefully, Musks downfall will signify the end of this ridiculous era of "billionaire worship".

Watch for a more detailed outline of Musk's fraudulent and dishonest behaviour.

Quite the contrary I think Elon Musk is highly capable and has great foresight that most other people (even high achievers) fail to understand him.

His late behavior seemed eccentric most likely he is suffering from entrepreneurship burnout.

He has a cult of devoted followers because he always puts his money where his money is. He has always been toying with possible bankruptcy until the recent Twitter purchase when he along the way cashed out a lot of his Tesla stocks into cash.

Most of the Chinese EV companies who have been making a killing worldwide once all benefitted from Tesla releasing their patents for free.

What a terrible comment. It is too emotionally loaded without reputable sources to be taken seriously.

Not a fan of Musk myself, but I would still like to see criticism on a real level.

Elon Musk. The greatest scammer in the history of mankind. Scams his way to the title of the world's richest man openly in full view of the world and has millions worshipping his feet while he's at it.

His modus operandi is simple: make a half-baked version of a futuristic product (electric cars, space shuttles whatever), then hype it up to the moon to get investors' money. And this is where and how the majority of his wealth came from. Rinse and repeat.

Once his half-baked crappy products have plateaued in terms of attracting investors' money, he loses interest in those products/companies and starts the next one.

His forte isn't in producing products or services. It's in showmanship and hyping things up. A true master psychopath and conman, the kind you read about in Robert Greene's book The 48 Laws Of Power.

Elon musk has always been an underdog.

Silicon valley believed that his ideas are crazy. Wall street gave him a F rating. Tesla was the most shorted stock by fund managers.

NASA saved him in 2008 and Tesla survived after getting its factory set up in China and accelerated in production since 2018.

Looking back I think Elon Musk is an exceptionably remarkable entrepreneur whose only mistake is trying to start a car manufacturing business in U.S.

If he moved Tesla to China from day one it could be very different.

Half baked doesn't get you to space though (at least not in one piece). You can read about all the rocket failures (especially the ones in the early days) on the Kwajalein Atoll. You can see the entrepreneurial grind and process to get there. I recommend reading Walter Isaacson's book on Elon Musk.

Yup, he promises stuff and then he makes an electric car, and then makes a rocket that goes into orbit that can land itself. Then asks investors for money and that’s where his wealth comes from. Then he starts another company and does the same thing. What a scammer.

His forte isn't in producing products or services.

Yeah, he never actually makes a final viable product.

Starlink alone is more impressive than probably any other business started in the last 10 years and all these haters in this thread have completely forgotten to mention it because compared to starting a successful car company and then also starting a rocket company kinda overshadows it a bit

Oh and his other little side project twitter is still working even though he fired everyone and all the news articles kept saying it would break and go out of business and distract him from his other businesses

I wouldn’t say I’m a fanboy by any means although this post will get me accused of it by his haters, but seriously, what he’s created in such a short period of time is insane

Elon Musk doesn’t strike me as a particularly great businessman. He’s a great engineer / creator though.

Compare Elon to Bernard Arnault — the latter is a businessman, Elon is not. His skillset is more the creation of startups, with all that entails, from raising funds, to building futuristic products etc. doesn’t matter in the end if the product works or not. Many startups are successful with a sucky product.

Imo a businessman has a different skillset, primarily built around identifying and taking advantage of opportunities. Elon Musk doesn’t do this, he creates opportunities instead.
