Today I spent a few hours brainstorming ideas, and I also set up a way to track all of my ideas and organize them. I have colorcoded them so I can easily see which ones to keep in mind or see if there's a market fit etc.

Now I ended up with 8 proper ideas that provide actual value. I marked 4 as "Remember" and 2 as "check for demand" so tomorrow I will find a way to see if there's demand for two of them, and try to evolve the 4 other ideas. I will also brainstorm more ideas tomorrow.

I won't be making very long posts, but make small posts like this basically daily if possible.

I really like that exercise @MJ DeMarco suggested in one of his responses earlier. Good old-fashion word counting.

Number of times "I" is used in the post: 10
Number of times "value" is used in the post: 1.5 (I counted "demand" as 0.5 because it is kind of obvious low-level sort of "value".

Still 10:1,5 ratio, way to go! But a first step is a first step.

Dreaming of having two timers, like in chess also. One labeled "acting" the other one - "action-faking". Putting this numbers on display would be revolutionary!

BTW can posting on this forum be considered acting or action-faking? Insight, anyone?

That's so funny :)
I think that it's clever, but not really useful? At least not in a tracking progress context. Like in these posts I'm just tracking what I did, I don't talk about what ideas I came up with and the value they provide. Just noting what I do, not what it can lead to. Of course, the main goal is to give as much value to as many people as possible, but saying value more than I in every message would not change anything really. Why would this exercise be useful?

Wow, this is action faking? It took like 3 minutes, and I did it to keep track of my progress. But yeah, posting here doesn't do anything except making me feel like I'm working. It's better to actually sit and work on my ideas.

And I know @MJ DeMarco doesn't like the idea of finding the perfect idea, me neither, but I want to spend more than a few hours to decide what I'm going to focus months-years on. I want to make sure that it's an idea that provide genuine value to people. That it's actually benefiting people and not just something I think would be nice to do.

Yea, it's really for people who post rants about not breaking ground on a business after dozens of failures, and they can't seem to figure out while their forex, dropshipping, SMMA plan didn't work out.. .

I think it's good that you are posting this thread to the forum.

When you post something this simple to the forum it can help you keep a record for yourself of what you did on what day, and you have a kind of accountability because someone can DM you saying "Hey, I saw what you said X number of days ago. Where are you at with this now?"

However, what's better is if instead of saying "Here's what I will do", you update the forum saying "Here's what I am currently doing", or better yet "Here's what I've done."

I'm happy you're brainstorming. In terms of TUNEF, you've got belief, meaning, perhaps a bunch of killer CENTS Productocracies, and discipline. But you are basically showing us that you are lacking execution. Let's not be "idea entrepreneurs".

Godspeed.

Thanks a lot mate,
yeah, I will use this as progress tracker and accountability tool. I will definitely keep this in mind.

Alright bro, today I'll take the first step for an idea I came up with.

I really appreciate your advice

UPDATE:

So yesterday evening I was reviewing the ideas I came up with two days ago, and misinterpreted what i had read so I gave myself feedback on the wrong idea, but, I quickly noticed that I hadn't even talked about this idea before. So the story of how I came up with this idea is a little funny. Well, I quickly got basically obsessed with it and wanted feedback as soon as possible so I asked in another Fastlane forum post, there I got the advice of a way to see if there is demand. And that's where I'm at, I have developed the idea and I am very fond of it but I want to make sure that there is an actual need for it.

That's what I've done and this is what I'll do today:
Today I'm going to build a landing page and market it to see if people sign up for it.
This way I can get feedback from my target audience, whom are unbiased.
And don't worry, I'll make another update this evening about how it went.

Okay, right now I'm preparing the launch of the waitlist.
I'm currently considering what amount of sign ups I should set as a goal.
Or more accurate, a % of the ones who saw it or clicked on it.

Update: I've been very busy with life the last couple of days, but I haven't stopped.

I've made a lot of progress on my landing page. I really like how it's turning out, and I'm pretty sure I'll be finished with it tomorrow. I don't want to spend to much time on it.

That's what I'm doing business-wise. In life I am remaking my workout schedule, for the like 3000th time. Usually I just do small changes but I'm making a complete revamp of it now since I've learnt so much and my goals have changed as well.

RE: Workouts

Personally, I like sticking to a program for 8 weeks or so and then switching it up. Changing too often can mess with your results (trust me).
