I do both affiliate marketing as well as have my own ecom stores and products now that I import/create.What do you consider the more lucrative areas of your business as opposed to what your employees are doing?
Things I quickly handed off that aren't the "money makers" are thinks like handling customer service, shipping, keeping all my Facebook accounts full of activity. That leaves me more time to focus on the meat and potatoes - the marketing (creating ads, LPs,angles, searching for products, etc.)
All the activities I have them doing are all essential to the business. They are just areas that I either hate doing myself now or are time consuming.
Yes i learn all new marketing channels as well, that's just what I do. However, I am training others to learn the channels as well. The short term goal with that being I can set up everything using my in depth knowledge and let them focus on the daily stats and tweaking of the campaigns.are you putting your personal time into learning those channels or are you outsourcing those channels?
as for this:
I say learn it. It is NOT that difficult. Just gonna take time to experiment and learn. I come across companies getting ripped off all the time by supposed "FB/google/whatever marketers". They just have no idea what to expect.I don't have the specific knowledge of Facebook's platform. So, I could pay someone who knows the channel better...but they may not have the marketing skills I have.
ie: a dentist friend of mine has been paying someone $16k a MONTH to manage their site and do all their FB marketing. Long story short, I showed him that he was clearly getting ripped off (even tho it was profitable for him). Fired that guy and has started learning the system himself. By doing so, he grew his new monthly patients by 600% (a HUGE increase) with WAY LESS marketing dollars. He is now looking to hire out someone to do it again (so he can focus on the patients) but he now knows what to do and what not to do and the obvious signs someone is ripping him off.
Not understanding what you are paying for is expensive, at least know the basics.
