Hi everyone,
I'm going to keep this as concise as possible.
I am an entrepreneur living and studying business management at a UK university. I am currently doing a 1-year sales internship at Adobe, however I will return back to university next September.
From my understanding and experience, the software/tech selling industry is probably one of the most financially rewarding, yet least demanding industry in terms of hours actually worked, if compared to like investment banking, consulting and the other stem fields. This is the main reason why I would look to continue my career in this direction, as it would allow me to earn a high income, whilst not being overwhelmed with work, therefore meaning more capital and time to start a business.
From feedback from peers, I can confidently say that my greatest strength is my interpersonal skills. Although having interpersonal skills is incredibly useful, I don't feel that it is enough to start a successful business. I am also aware that regardless of how lubricant the software/tech sales industry is, it is highly unlikely that I'd make any more than $400,000-450,000 in any given year, and that's assuming that I am like within the top 1% of salespeople in my company/industry, or securing VP/ C suite role, which I do not see myself pursuing. I have always been proactive and ambitious, however, I just needed guidance in channelling my hunger into worthwhile endeavours, which MJ DeMarco's books have helped a lot with. I understand that success doesn’t come easy, however, I want to reach a position in my life where I can live, without any financial or time constraints, ideally before I turn 30.
Now with regards to the above information, I bombarded you with, I would really appreciate any advice/tips that you may have for me starting my entrepreneurial Journey.
PS: This is my first of many future contributions, and I have to thank MJ for sending me an email for not engaging in the forum, I needed that reality check!
Thanks for reading, and I wish you all a productive week!
