Well, that was weird.
My day has just ended. And it brought me four leads with zero marketing budget and with a total of some tens of thousands of USD. And the most weird thing - I did not even knew I was doing marketing. It seems I got lucky the way MJ got lucky in his "luck" part of Unscripted .
There were two events. First was a bit of an internet discussion in the entrepreners group in Facebook about the approach to advertising, basically "free local group posts vs paid FB ads" discussion. I steped in claiming that when I was doing b2c, free group posts were my main revenue source as I cracked the code of catching the eye-balls by going Spidey`s "friendly neighborhood superhero" model in making my ads. And pople in the comments started asking for details ending in one persone asking me to rewrite her ad. For money. Wow. Will try to help her on Friday. We agreed that she won`t pay me but share her statistics. She has a descent service (massages with up to 30% return ratio) and will go paid ads. Her current text has 30 USD/client cost and I want to see how my approach will do.
Second event was even more bizarre. I wrote a funny story about one client interaction this week. And posted it in FB local memes group (not business-related, just general fun). Got like 5-6 times more likes than usual posts there. And 3 leads from there. With jobs, with money. Meet one of them on Thursday (approx. 5-10 thousand USD profit based on my rough "have only seen photos" estimation). The other one can be a long-term cooperation as he is the guy who needs specific service I happan to have vast experience in from my past life. Exchanged numbers, decided to start negotiations in some weeks. The third one is a generic job, will probably pass but still wait for details.

We are doing a difficult repair work using rope-access technique. 16-story building was hit by an explosive device during active phase of recent Israel-Hesbolla war. The main damage was mended but now we are fixing small cracks and burns in the building. So the client comes to see the work while I am in the air. The client is a voluntary conscript and he is now stationed in Lebanon. Came right from there, uniform, rifle and all that. So he is standing on the ground, I am working somewhere around 14th floor. And the guy uses the aim from his gun to look at me. Causing some rampant emotions from my on-the-ground partner. Basically that is it, another "Israeli army" story to laugh at.
Morals? I think when I am vocal about what I do - I also need to be prepared to grab the cash
