Hey guys, it's been a while. I haven't been hopping on the forums enough lately. I came across this RSD seminar that REALLY resonated with me today. I spent about 2 hours jotting down notes and I thought I'd share it with everyone so they can spare themselves watching the entire thing, though I still think what Owen says really fits the mindset of a successful entrepreneur, as he is one himself. I'm not a huge fan of their PUA stuff, but I've got no problem with game, it's cool. Lately his videos have been delving into entrepreneurial stuff so I'm really digging it and I thought you guys would too.
Here's the video:
Now I don't 100% agree with everything this guy says, but I wrote down in my notebook what really resonated with me. I want to share it with you guys to fully internalize what he said. Anyways, none of this is my material, so huge shout out to owen from RSD for producing this gold content. I'm just regurgitating my notes onto this forum for the benefit of everyone here.
RSD - OWEN - Execution, Learning From Failure, Not Being A Lazy Slug
-A blue collar work ethic is highly important; work to the bone.
-Be humble, don't boast, and be an executor.
-Do NOT succumb to human nature and minimize time and effort for maximum value. (Being a parasite)
-Have unshakable self-belief and confidence, but not narcissism.
-We're biologically wired to minimize time and effort, and to become complacent and stagnate with comfort.
-A permanent/perpetual failure (average person) won't have a rational paranoia of failure, and think everything will be fine without any of their effort applied.
-Successes on the other hand have huge faith in their goals, even if things aren't working out or are perfect.
-Successes aren't stubborn, they just take calculated risks, and won't settle for average.
-It's very important to draw happiness from within versus deriving it from something that gives temporary pleasure (TV, Drugs, Video Games)
-The point is to stick to the process and learn from failures along the way.
-If you hold faith in something, and trust that the cause and effect laws of the universe are working, and you work your a$$ off through think or thin, you will inevitably get results through persistence.
-Always tackle challenges. <This means stepping out of your comfort zone during every opportunity that arises.
-All of the above only applied if you remember the critical component of taking action.
-Be paranoid of perpetual failure if you don't hustle.
-Failure is the norm, normal people rationalize or play victim.
-Success is about focusing on what you want.
-Failures by contrast focus on what they don't want through complaining and crying like a child.
-Do NOT focus on what you don't want.
-Success is not about punching at a wall, it is about punching through walls.
-Think of success as a narrow road in a tunnel with a tiny light at the end of it.
-While travelling the road it's all about discipline to stay on the path, course-correct, and learning from your mistakes.
-Example: Professional athletes will always reflect on what they did in the game, analysing what mistakes they made, how they could've done it better, and they always keep success in their mind through visualization.
-NEVER beat yourself up over results, but instead be strict about your processes that get results. Stick to your processes that yield results. Learn lessons from taking action, internalize, and apply what is learned.
-Claim extreme self-responsibility, and accountability.
-There is huge affluence and abundance in modern society, more so than ever before in human history. You have every tool you could ever need in this day and age to make success happen, and you're lazy if you aren't working to make it happen and taking action.
-There is a good and evil side to everything, it's all up to the choices you make and the actions you take.
-You can use the internet to watch useless, non-educational youtube videos for 12 hours a day or use the internet as a learning tool and platform to become a successful entrepreneur.
-Owen: "All I ever wanted from life is to work hard and to earn from it. Forget free tickets, they aren't fullfilling." <<Owen basically says he wouldn't want to win the lottery, nor has he ever opened his parent's wills because he believes in working for his money, not getting it for nothing.
-Have integrity. Have the integrity as a person to never cheat, scam, or get free-rides.
-Don't settle for a significant other who are lazy, cheaters, unaccountable, leechers, or just get freebies.
-You can shave years off of your life with diet and exercise.
