Hello,
I have recently read unscripted . I'm in my early 20's, one year out of college with an Engineering degree and a Federal Job in my field. My job has me in the field on projects during the warmer months and teleworking from home during the winter months. It is a positioned designed to develop and train the employee in all the modes of work in the agency (basically I intern but everywhere). There is a lot of hurry up and wait in my job. I enjoy the field portions of the work, but absolutely despise the telework. I think this is because I spent a lot of time isolated alone as a kid and have since then hated prolonged periods of waiting. I had a FTM and gave my direct supervisor my unofficial 2 weeks' notice today (gracefully). I have four supervisors total, so I have still more calls to make before I send anything official.
Right now I have a little over 15 grand saved up between my accounts and 8k in debt on a 6-year car loan (in hindsight I should have bought a 2k beater). My total monthly expenses are less than 800/mo.
Am I being too impulsive?
I don't have any side hustles or alternatives already built up to dump my free time if I were to commit to quitting. However, I do have a low cost of living and a small egg to give me time to figure out an alternative revenue source that makes CENTS.
