Hi folks,
I'm a Senior manager of a large, national bank in Canada. Been thinking of starting a content based website to a niche market, including adding some affiliate links and even my own ebooks. If this takes off, I would walk away from my job and do this and other web projects full time.
Question: Regarding my website, should I stay anonymous while I'm still working for the bank (using maybe a fictitious name and no pics of me) or go all out and talk about me, including pics, etc. I know the later will provide more authenticty and a better connection with the web visitors, especially if I eventually want to add a blog and you tube videos, etc; on the other hand, what if people at my bank find out about it (including my employees and my bosses), what kind of a message would that send about my commitment to my "real job", etc. I could see some awkward issues there. My website content would not be in conflict with my work (ie, I would not be disclosing any proprietary information) although I would be referring to experiences in my role at the bank.
Anybody else faced similiar issues about whether to remain anonymous or not while still employed?
