Ooooh. Money. And Love. Two topics pretty much everyone has a strong opinion on.
I am not married, but this is a fascinating thread. Makes you wonder about your own degree of risk-tolerance and what you'd honestly expect from a partner. At this point, I can't even imagine being attracted to a man without some "hustle" but the thought of trusting a man - even my man - with my financial security sort of makes me cringe.
Speaking as a woman - I think there are still some ingrained expectations of what a man is supposed to do and provide. Some women - and men - have taken the time to really examine which of those expectations are truly their own and which are outdated structures determined by her socio-cultural upbringing.
My question is: If both parties have taken the time to get a clear understanding of their own financial needs/expectations/ways of meeting those goals and feeling comfortable - is it possible for finances and risky business ventures to not influence a relationship so much, aka keep the finances mostly separate? Does that actually work in a real marriage?
