It's been a lonnnnng time since I've had a new site developed.
With all of the new technology changes, is there an obvious place to have a book/blog site built these days?
The last time I looked into it I got different answers from everyone I asked - which seemed wild to me there wasn't a more obvious solution to what I was looking for. Since then a lot has changed tech wise, so wondering if there might be now.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Little to no maintenance needed.
Very easy to use.
Will be a great long-term solution.
Likely wanting to create something super clean like: Hi, I'm James Clear.
Here's what I'm wondering:
1. Is there an obvious platform these days for the most optimal solution? (used to be wordpress, but not sure if it is anymore)
2. Is there an obvious place to go to find the best people to build for that platform?
3. Based on how much easier creating sites has become, what kind of price range should I be aiming to pay? (using James' site above as a simple example) - I got referred to the guy who built James site a while back and got quoted mid 5 figures for something even simpler than that site w/less pages, which seemed bonkers to me. Then another company would quote me 10% as much for the same thing.
I felt like @MJ DeMarco getting a lawn quote.
So, for a non-tech guy, make this simple for me.
Where should I be looking these days, and why?
