Yet another thread from me. Just settling ground on a recent idea and would like some feedback as people around me don't use content or technology to that matter.
The idea:
Helping content producers aka Youtubers make a better living from their videos. Idea come about after seeing several gaming youtubers channels disappear in minutes, due to apparently violating youtube policy. Campaigns hit twitter to get them back, to no succeed. These guys did youtube videos for a living, and it's all just vanished for them. Rough ride huh?
The Concept:
Not sure if anyone has heard of Twitch.TV (go check it out to understand what I'm talking about) They offer partners a monthly subscription where fans can subscribe for $4.99 which helps towards their income. Twitch take about half of this per sub the other half to the live streamer.
So my idea was to incorporate this into a Youtube based site. Money can be earned from ads still, maybe offer subscribers ad free viewing as a perk. Following would still be enabled but sub will cost.
Open to discussion.
