My sister came into town from Chicago with her boyfriend.

We went out to celebrate a bit and her boyfriend told me something interesting:

"Hey, did you know that it's now legal to smoke dope in Chicago"

I then asked what the exact law was,

he responded "It's not a criminal offense, but you still get fined if you get caught smoking it"

WOW...

Let's look at this from a business perspective:

Chicago's government tells it's people that smoking marijuana is officially a non-criminal offense but they will still charge you for doing so.

Think about it this way-all of a sudden you can get a nice fat ticket for smoking weed, but you won't be arrested and hardly any paperwork will have to be filled out.

Cops can run around freely handing out tickets for smoking marijuana in the same way they do with parking tickets.

Gov't gets a nice passive income while increasing efficiency of operations and cutting costs by decreasing jail occupancy and paperwork.

The Chicago government officially got into the drug racket, for free, without lifting a finger.

What do you guys think? Opinions and thoughts would be interesting on this one!

Cheers,

Number one rule when doing/trading/selling drugs: don't get caught. So nothing really changed right? I mean if people are really dumb enough to do drugs on the street, then well.. their problem.

for the most part cops havent cared in Chicago...they normally would just pocket the green.
Its a waste of time booking people for pot.

Selling drugs just leads to bad. Might get you feeling "fastlane" for a little bit but eventually it falls apart and goes bad plus other businesses are more lucrative then selling drugs.

Plus the law is for 14 grams or less. If you think you are going to make it fastlane selling 14 grams or less ($180 or under) that's retarded. I would call that "slowlane" haha
