I am toying around with several different writing styles or "feels" for my blog as well as for articles that we'll sumbit. From what I've seen in our industry, most blogs or articles are very polished and professional sounding. I'm not sure if I should stay within that format or break away and write with a more chatty vibe. Here's an example of two paragraphs:

This is the first article in a series titled, “Buying a Vacation Property for Fun and Profit”. Owning and managing a vacation property can be fun, rewarding and pay for itself if done right! Like with any other business, starting can feel somewhat overwhelming. The goal of this series is to get you pointed in the right direction, as well as to shave years off of your learning curve.

If you have been playing around with the idea of owning a vacation rental, the first big question to ask yourself is, “How do I intend to use this property?” The answer to this question largely depends on your motivation for owning a vacation property. Now, there are two drastically different ways you can answer: One answer could be that you want a vacation property as a second home that you occasionally rent out; the other is that you want an investment property to vacation in occasionally. Do you see the difference? This may seem like an issue of semantics to some of you, but I guarantee it’s not. How you view this property will affect the type of financing you get, your emotional attachment to the property, how you furnish it, who you rent to, how often you rent it out and how you perceive the value of a property when you are hunting for one.

-or-

Hello and welcome! Come on in and join our discussion on my back deck. We’re talking about vacation rentals- we’ve got drinks in the cooler and the BBQ is going. We saved a chair for you, so make yourself comfortable and feel free to ask anything that’s on your mind.

Now, we’ve heard that you’ve been sniffing around the idea of owning a vacation rental. Well, we love our vacation rentals, heck, owning and managing a vacation rental can be fun, rewarding and pay for itself if it’s done right! Now before you take the plunge there is one major question to ask yourself: “How do I intend to use this property?” The answer to this question largely depends on your motivation for owning a vacation property. If your motivation is to own a second home that you rent out occasionally, then the plan for your property will go one way; if your motivation is to own an investment property that you vacation at occasionally, then your plan will go another way.

Keep in mind that both of these samples are still in rough draft forum, so focus more on feel and less on content. ...Do you have a favorite? If so, why? Any tips, advice or .02?
