Hi, my name is Eshaan and I am from India.

I am currently in a dilemma. I'm not sure whether I should focus on learning to code or direct all my efforts into learning copywriting and marketing to start earning money.

I have seen many coders end up with what seems like a boring job within a startup, writing programs and codes all day. I have aspirations to start my own business in the future, so I'm not sure if learning to code is the best path for me.

On the other hand, I have seen people my age on platforms like Twitter grinding and hustling to earn their first $10k. It feels like I might be falling behind and need to work 24/7 to catch up with them and earn my first $10k faster than my friends.

Additionally, many of my schoolmates are solely focused on following the school curriculum and preparing for the JEE, the exam for getting into the top colleges in India. However, I feel stuck because not doing well in these exams may lead to not getting into a good college and not having the right network. This might result in me having to conform to the traditional job-seeking path, and I might end up taking loans for my college degree because I'm afraid to take risks.

So, what should I do?
1. Learn to code: In India, coders are relatively inexpensive and have excellent skills, which makes me doubt if I can compete.
2. Marketing/Copywriting

Hello Eshaan. First thing is to not worry about what others are doing and how well they are doing. You are you and not like anyone else. Where would you like to go in life is totally up to you.

Learning to code is not necessary now that we have ChatGPT; which can code faster and better. If you can learn to prompt and code review & test the results ChatGPT has produced for you then you could save yourself time that way.

If there is a programming language I would recommend it would most certainly be Python. Why? Because Python is very much a part of the AI ecosystem.

Generative AI can produce code, marketing, copy writing, video, photos, music, movies, commercials and so much more. The possibilities are endless. And it keeps getting better.

You can harness this power to build whatever business you decide on. I use ChatGPT to clean up and even write much of my Python applications. I hope this helps.
