There are some threads going on in the private forums about adventures people have had....
It got me to thinking.
Some of the adventures are adventures with goals...
Swim across the big body of water.
Hike from x to y.
Get to the summit of really tall mountain.
Run a marathon.
Do you recreate that way?
I don't - usually. I realized that as I thought about different stories I could write about my fastlane adventures. I could write about the month long road trip in Mexico or Touching the Gray Whales, or Sailing in the BVI's or Sailing into our bay with no motor (it broke) in the dark. I could write about the hikes and bike rides in Glacier Park or Yellowstone park. There is the time that a herd of bison ran through our picnic. Then there is the time that we ended up hiking up and down mountains - - - going about 25 miles in a day in pursuit of some holes my Grandfather saw somewhere "up there" 40 years ago. There are a lot of adventures I could write about, but none of them make a good story....
They don't have a goal. Or a BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT at the end. They are just unique experiences. Enjoyable moments.
Perhaps it would be fun to change some of my recreational activities. Attach a goal of sorts.
