I had a check for 2k in December last year, but I don't count it as it was kind of an "I did nothing for it". This past week I received the first real check since I opened my own shop. It was 10k. I have another one a little smaller coming shortly. I know they are not big having in mind that in my industry, checks come sparsely.
I want to focus on making those checks bigger when they come so they are sufficient to sustain the structure (very small as of now) and make it solidly grow.
I think of it as a spiral. I want to be careful with the additions so the spiral stays in shape. One addition, a little bit more expenses, more revenue - on repeat -.

The next step is in February, to start paying a small salary to our loyal employee who worked her soul for this adventure without expectations. Her belief in the idea and my cause will be rewarded proportionally to our expansion.

The cherry on top is that I believe now what initially was a concept in my mind. I wanted to truly help our clients. So far, we are succeeding at that. The challenge is to keep it up while sustaining numbers going up.

I wanted to share it because although it was not the biggest check I have ever gotten, it feels different. This one came from something created by us. Something mine. The smell of independence is in the air. Feels like the smell of coffee in the morning. When you smell it, even just that is enjoyable and you know it's probably coming soon.

I am happy I took the jump.
