You are right, not everything has to be fastlane. I also agree that the guy running the kickstarter took the proceeds and went in an unexpectedly (to me) nice direction. He is delivering more than he promised on his kickstarter page, right? I will admit I did not expect his kickstarter to turn out this well, or for him to turn it into a charity.
Obviously, we will both agree that people are free to spend their money as they will. However, I am still confused why they would pay for something they will likely not be able to collect on when there are other projects on kickstarter that promise something tangible for $10.
I like beer. If I saw something related to beer on kickstarter I would likely throw money at it.
If a guy made a kickstarter saying, "I am going to make beer." I would give him a thumbs-up but not $10.
I know: I am a scrooge, a miser, and I suck. But I still have my $10.
Last thing: I wish the gentleman running the charity all the best, and I wish I could market & organize even half as well as he can.
