My belief is that you should find a business model that resonates with you and then achieve mastery in it.
I feel like initially you need to find what that business model is, is it apps, is it ecommerce, what type of ecommerce? so you try a bunch of different things.
I did that I created a mobile app, I sold a product on amazon, now I’m building an ecommerce brand starting off by creating a unique product.
Now I have a business model I want to spend the next decade building multiple Fastlane businesses in.
The process went like this Mobile App - Amazon FBA - Shopify eCommerce Brand.
Now I know from placing my toes in the water what that business model is, that I want to achieve mastery in. Building eCommerce Brands. In the Health & Beauty niche. Creating custom products and selling them.
Now my sole focus around everything I do business wise is around that business model. If I go slow lane for a bit, the jobs I apply for will aid me in my business model. I’ll be applying for ecommerce related jobs.
That is how you achieve mastery imo. Where you reach a level to spot needs and opportunities in your business model, that other people can’t see. You have a competitive advantage. Plus you have an edge in execution.
To summarise, my belief is you need to dabble with a few business ideas initially. Like an apprenticeship phase. Find a long term sustainable business model that suits you and is Fastlane and then go all in.
