I see a lot of folks on here and everywhere else trying to get into, getting into, or still into e-biz and solely focusing on search and adwords traffic. I know for a fast the majority of them have read before don't tie all your income or traffic or whatever magic penis you are looking for to google and it's services. Yes it has the most traffic, but also the highest competition because of it.
You all need to start thinking like entrepreneurs and not just internet marketers stuck in the traffic = money grind. What happened to the 100 top most trafficked sites below google? Is that traffic worthless? Is it not the same people that use google that are still looking for the same shit?
Let me vet myself here with a screenshot....
This is my personal site... and i have no idea what campaigns is but who cares. The fact is a very small percentage comes from search traffic. If i started a blog and started writing posts that are SEO focused i would be sitting waiting for traffic.
Since when do entrepreneurs wait around for things to happen, {we|you|I} go out and get things done and make shit happen.... so start acting like it.
Most of this traffic is reddit traffic, but also has other social networks tied in, and i have yet to start experiementising with pintrest, instagram, path, and all the other niche social networks. My site has under 10 posts on it, yet i have a subscriber base that is growing and branding that comes with traffic.
So go out, start actually working in other heavily traffic environments and leverage all your resources. STOP jerking around chasing JUST SEO, or using JUST adwords for traffic. It isn't hard to spend time on the internet and find new ways to get traffic to whatever it is you are doing, you just have to break that tunnel vision.
I should have probably wrote a blog post on this but that would have required better writing.... oh well.
WHO else has gotten good amounts of traffic outside of search or basic PPC? Anyone interested in step by steps for different sites?
