Getting SAAS ideas for B2B?

Recently, I was advised against trying to build a SAAS direct to customer. Instead, they told me it was better to find a business problem and find the solution that way. Other than having direct industry experience, can anyone advise how to find these B2B problems to create a solution for? I'm guessing it's more than just finding a reddit or linkedin group and seeing what the problem is. Having actual connections would probably be the key here...
