Hi everyone,
I joined a few months back, I'm Madeleine. I've been a small business owner for 12 years. It was a bumpy hell-ride through the recession but the business is still going and supporting me. It's slow lane, but there are many lifestyle perks, one of those being a good bit of free time.
A year ago I began thinking about using some of that free time to start a second venture, so here I am after reading TMF this year. Currently taking some classes to fill in some skill/knowledge gaps, and have generated a number of product ideas for the second venture. I've had difficulty narrowing the focus, and a short term goal is to pick one idea and get started.
I also have a longer term goal of changing the model of the first business. Industry changes will make my current business model obsolete at some point. There is a strategic reason for starting a second business before I start changing the model of the existing business.
I am excited to get moving! And really grateful to @MJ DeMarco for the book and the forum, and for everyone who has contributed here. Learned a TON already just by browsing threads.
