Hello from New Zealand!

Hi, my name's Luke. I'm 19 years old and recently I've decided that entrepreneurship and business is the way of the future.

I'm going to give some brief paragraphs about the past 3 years of my life so you can get an idea of where I am at now and what I am doing.

17 years old. I know everything, didn't we all say that at least once in our lives?

December 2012, finished up school thinking I knew everything. Got a full time job, working 50+ hours a week as a labourer. My income was $500-600 / week and I felt like I was ballin, go out every weekend and just before I'd get the following weeks pay I'd spend my last $10.

Sure, great lifestyle! What's wrong with it? Party, drink and have endless amounts of good times?

At the end of this year, I have no money saved but I've definitely had a great amount of good times going out clubbing and parting.

18 years old. Money becomes important.

No alcohol, drug or gambling addictions I need to fund. It's just simply having money because with it so many problems are eliminated.

I had a car accident with no vehicle insurance, immediately I needed to buy a new car, and I owe $15,000 in reparations because of no insurance.

Only if I knew how to save money and understood why insurance is so important, I would of avoided this problem.

I was left with only one option and that was to get a bank loan.

At the end of this year, I'm in debt, owe money and back to square one.

19 years old (present). Entrepreneurship and business

I've saved about $10,000 from my current job and cleared my debt. What an achievement.

All of a sudden so many more opportunities are appearing, quick things to make money appear out of nowhere. Things I've never thought of before; ways to utilise the internet, taking advantage of company promotions and business opportunities arise.

So far I've been taking business courses, financial trading courses and other social courses. The most important factor is: I'm always learning.

My theory is that if I put the hard yard in now, have the right MINDSET and ATTITUDE, then eventually you'll get that "lucky break" and in the long run you'll be better off. If everything turns to custard, it's not the end of the world. You just have to say to yourself that it's progress because you will learn from your mistakes and eventually everything will work out if you keep trying.

I'm 20 soon and I want to do something different. I've brainstormed multiple business ideas and discussed them. Some of the ideas are good and some are bad. But that's the whole purpose of discussing the ideas are to get another perspective. I might think the idea is a gold mine, but then on the other hand there are always things you miss or don't know about. My current goal is to select the right idea and hopefully "take action" and launch my own business in the next couple of years.

Well I hope the read wasn't too boring and vulgar. I look forward to being a part of the community.

Very exciting!

Luke
