Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself to you guys. I just turned 22 on February, I am from Mexico and I have a bachelor´s degree in Finance and Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in business Administration (which is not really that good). Currently I am working as a Financial analyst for a Danish company here in Mexico (almost for a year now), I don´t really dislike my job (at least it is 10-15 minute from home), nevertheless I am not willing to waste my potential working for a company all my life especially knowing that I could have done something better and challenge myself with much more difficult tasks.
Before I read the book I already had a similar mindset as the one I have now , I have always disliked losing my time on trivial activities such as being jammed in traffic or waiting in lines just to get tickets, food, etc. Some people think that I am too extremist when I avoid all these activities but it really bothers me when I lose my time.
Also here in Mexico the general mindset is really stupid (in my opinion), and I am not talking about the mindset of a 20 year old kid that works in the supermarket, I am talking about CFO´s and CEO´s that have "achieved" something in their professional life, here they believe that the best results come from working more hours a day and staying late every day. You know what I believe? I believe that the best results come from working long hours in an efficient way, and not from working 10 hours a day in an inefficient way, I always get on time to my job and get out on time because I don´t waste time on work gossips or giving myself long breaks, and still they always look at me with some weird face when I get out on time as if I were doing something wrong...
As much as I don´t dislike working there I am sure that I don´t want to be doing this kind of work for the rest of my life, I would like my life to be the consequence of my thoughts and actions.
I can see that there are a lot of people in here that are willing to give good information that can help me grow as long as I am willing to accept it and take actions. This why I would like to learn as much as I can from all of you and start doing my own homework to acquire more knowledge!
Thank you all for taking the time and reading this! (or not jk )
