So who is ...? Well ... presumptively ... poor people. People who might want to impress ... but can't afford to buy. A crowd with not a whole lot of disposable income. Not exactly what I would call the best demographic to market your wares to. But okay ... is what it is. Let's move on.

I don't agree with this one. You have stores like payless shoes, and other discount shoe places that sell cheap versions of shoes that are fakes of the real thing for five to ten bucks.

Just from my experience in life, I know you hang out in block sales in rich and slow lane neighborhoods, they have brand new shoes sometimes and clothes they never wear. At least in the community I group up they just through crap away for a few bucks. And so they threw stuff to good will, and under thrift shops with the tags still on. Not to mention stores like JCPenny will donate to their clearance stock to such places.

I used to go the store myself at certain points of the year and by clearance products and sell them online. Of course I worked at a Department store so I new when that happen, and knew all the other stores did the same. Usually after holidays like Christmas, Easter, end of summer in August are the main times.

Really I would go for brand new items versus used things.

For shoes though, I do agree, I wouldn't want to rent shoes. It's just simpler to go buy a cheap pair if your don't have the money to buy and expensive pair. I don't have tons of shoes myself, because I love my favorites and never really got into the foot fetish. I do agree some women have a closet full of them. And I wouldn't say the poor, but the slow lane for sure and wealthy. I've seen lots of closets being a nurse aide, and really shoes are plenty. How many closets can you fill with clothes and shoes? Some people have tons of closes in their closets and never wear them, forget what they have, and end up donating it too pantries like the place I did my internship that had a clothes pantry.

I'm not sure, how well this kind of business would work for you, but if you rent out shoes, you better consider how much it costs to go to places like the New Yorker, and T.J. Maxx. If you really want a nice pair of shoes or even good brands, you can find them sometimes cheap. I bought an expensive pair of sneakers at younkers for $10 bucks on clearance one time. The mall's always have sales, and have to get rid of their stock at the end of the season.
