How To Do An Intro When You Want To Stay Private?

K

Guest
Hi everyone.

Now this is a big one. How can i introduce myself if I want to stay private?
LOL. I am acually not too much into public attention, because all my systems
that I am using online do not require my name plastered all over it.

And I really like to keep my privacy. I am online for over 20+ years and learned
early on how damaging false posted information can be for your personally and
your business - and that is a hell of a job to "clean up the Internet", which is of
course, never completely possible.

So I will share a few things, but not a lot, ok.

I am online forever an I have had a lot of up and downs with my Internet marketing,
I have had some "mediocre" successes and was touted at one point in MLM Network
Marketing as a "performer" and I never mad more than $5000 monthly in MLM working
my a$$ off.

I had amazing spikes like Google Adsense when it was still possible to make $5,000 -$8,000
a month and then all of sudden you are shut-down and your income is gone...

I had affiliate marketing companies cheating me in unbelievable ways, that I cant barely
count all (could be actually a book to write!). I made over $250,000 in adult webmaster
revenue for a xxx brand company (which I got paid 50%), but considering the numbers that
this happened over the period of the last 5 years - and then just one of the top "celebrity
names" quit with that company and the income went down to under $800 per month.
(Plus I got really bored looking at porn now after 10 years or so.)

I could go on and on. :)

In the past I had a computer consulting company teaching people seminars and
then wrote actually a book about one of the products I was coaching.
After I published that book I could have tripled my income for doing
seminars (instead of $800 per day I did charge $3000 per day back then in the
late 90s), but I was so burned out and bored that I stopped doing that.

For me the Internet is the perfect leverage place - and after reading MJs book it finally
made CLICK - because just a few weeks earlier I started a new business venture where
I now quit promoting anything else in order to leverage my time into high ticket items.

The key after all is this secret: it costs you as much energy and time to market high
ticket products as it takes you to do low cost products. But I am preaching to the choir.

:)

After reading MJs book I re-evaluated my new business leverage system and it
checked out as THE PERFECT GO for me.

I am VERY excited to be here, and again - I will keep my privacy, all I told here
already is more than I actually share normally.

No worries I came here because MJ became my personal hero now - he will be THE MILESTONE in getting myself back
to be a millionaire. (Ups, that part I actually did not share, did I? damn, so there you have it an ex-millionaire that
is on his speedy way to recovery!).

Um.... I'm not understanding your "concern".

Concerned about privacy but using your real name as your forum name.
Out bound links to 2 separate websites in your sig.
Avatar is a screenshot of your website homepage.

So can anyone point me out where there is an official post from MJ in regard to what is allowed or not.
I am getting all the heat here and I do not see what the problem is. I also have in addition to this contacted
MJ personally already about all that.

Here's what I am not tracking with as we got off on the wrong foot.

Why do you want to remain private, but sell an info product? Those two objectives are mutually exclusive of each other. In order for me to buy your product, I need to understand who you are.

To sell information, the author of the information needs to be transparent and vetted, not secretive. Otherwise, the material might have been written by a fry cook at Steak&Shake.

My post here is only to point out that you say you're concerned with privacy but you are seemingly transparent by using your real name and sharing your websites openly. I'm not saying you've done anything wrong by posting what you have. Your 'concern' just doesn't seem genuine to me. If you really wanted to stay private you would have used a pseudonym and not shared your websites. That's all I'm sayin'.

I hope you stick around, contribute, learn, and really enjoy our forum....BUT
brother...this ain't heat.

And when someone does take heat, they've earned it. And when we give heat, it's to help someone. They understand that and are usually thankful. That's how we roll. It's all about the love...tough love.

That is perfect for me. In fact if something is controversial and if there is what I called "heat" - that is a good thing. I am also used to polarize people. That is fine for me. My only concern at this time is that I need to iron out anything that went wrong if I violated any rules to signatures, avatars and I have to deal with my new project directly with MJ to see how a win-win situation can be developed. Cheers!

AllenCrawley, I perfectly see your point. Didn't it occur to you that I am already using a pseudonym? LOL. Don't you think that if I am concerned about my privacy I did not already take measure to keep it as much as possible? I fully understand what you mean with being congruent. I actually am.

To highjack this side chat with you: I really like your site copysketchpro.com and it is on my list to be bought in May. And no, you will NOT know who I am when I am buying it, it will be bought with some of my personal assistants email and address details. :) See, congruent. But thanks for watching over me!

Sorry, I too don't understand the privacy issue. If you've gone to the trouble of creating a false name for your forum account, why do you have links to your website that has your full, real name and a picture of you on it? If you really want to keep your privacy, I would suggest reevaluating the links you show. Also as a heads up, when people call attention to their desire for privacy, it typically makes people curious, which leads to less privacy.

Other than that, welcome to the forums! I hope we haven't given you the wrong idea; we all really do just want to help.

Jak, there must be a misunderstanding, I have never anywhere used my real name, nor have I used my picture or anything. I just got it now what you meant, it was the link about the webinar about "Outsourcing" that was in my signature, that was leading to someone else, not my own information. But it is good that you give me that feedback, I think I will stick to just 2 lines in my signature and keep it more simple. Thanks!

Hey Vigilante :) - thanks for your thoughts.

I have to highly disagree though on the the thing about creating trust and using your real name. It is absolutely possible to create an avatar and pen name(s) and still communicate your real story behind everything and protecting your privacy at the same time. It is not "either" you are out there and need to show your face, or not. There are many books published as "anonymous" that have influenced a great deal of people.

And as for the reader / consumer of product goes: the proof is in the pudding, is in the eating. If following some advice or being inspired about someones story or product will help you to get what THEY want, in the end your name does not matter much. Does it come to this: focus on the customer more than on yourself.

I know however what you say: you want people to trust you. Just that someone shows his face in public and creates an "image of trust" (like many, many gurus do) does not guarantee that their information is more genuine or valid. Just like MJs provides in his book so many gurus "out there" preach one thing but earn their personal riches with other strategies.

Thanks again for your feedback - I am dealing with this topic for the last 20 years being online by the way. I had good and bad experiences with using pen names as well as my real name by the way. :)

Hi Skekasaurus - it is your anti-virus being extra picky. I have double checked, maybe it is working now for you without the warning, but I get this sometimes from quite a few users. It is a false positive. No virus or anything is there. All my sites are constantly monitored against vulnerabilities, but I have a few scripts that autoload some cookies and codes in order to have support desk, optin forms and other tracking systems running (yes, I do check how people behave on my site to optimize them.) Thanks a lot for your concern!

You nailed it, no more warning for me haha. I had assumed it was nothing, did make me think "learnmore.php? trojan? this guy is totally spying on me and learning all my secrets from behind the scenes!!!" :bookworm:

I know what you are thinking. Great that you form an opinion about products and conference packages that indeed payout commissions like that. But it is all my mistake, I should not have posted about this in the first place as it is just "someone else" system if you are looking at it from the outside of perspective.

But at least some people get entertainment value out of it in the end.

LOL...well @Kevin Miller , you certainly have patience. Big asset for sure.

I understand the privacy thing. I was in the 'security' business for years and didn't always make friends. I kept as private as possible for a long time. I don't worry about it now because I know if someone wants to find me...they can. I take a lot of precautions and I know how to keep people safe so no biggie.

ok, so here comes my big apology to everyone here in the forum and I will start over without
repeating the same mistake.

It was wrong to put links in my signature advertising something that was not appropriate for
this forum - yes, in fact, it was plainly wrong to put in anything before even showing people
who I am (in the borders of the "privacy thing") and what I can contribute before doing something
like that.

And in fact: I came here to learn and get advice from people who are experts and have much
more experience in fastlane strategies than I have.

All I can say is: give me another chance. Getting slapped is certainly not a nice experience,
but if I can learn from this it was well worth the "pain".

It is not even sure I am a guy. (Doesn't mean I am unsure myself. LOL!) You know all those great stories women disguising them to be "men" in order to get heard and understood.

Think the movie Yentil with Barbara Streisand from the Eighties.

Now that you have gotten yesterday's little hickup out of the way,

Welcome!!

Now this is a big one. How can i introduce myself if I want to stay private?

Bummer,

I guess you will not be able to participate in an epic meet up such as

Beer and Pancakes - Where these life changing topics were discussed
Or
Capitalism and Bacon
Or Even....
Participate in a Mastermind Group.
