One score ago a great man was born. Okay maybe that’s a little too far back. lol My name is Dave and I am 20(Don‘t let my age fool you), and I came across this great forum about a year ago. I have pretty much lingered in the shadows, getting a feel of the community. Well, the other day I said to myself that I would no longer linger in the shadows, but instead jump in head first. Sorry for my introduction being so long, I've been thinking about what to say for a few days.
I have been exposed to real estate since age 11. My mother and ex-stepfather had rentals and flipped houses. She is a realtor here in town also. I got my residential builder’s license last year and have been working under my mother’s construction company.(yeah, she’s not a normal woman. lol) She is currently the money behind me. I am accumulating my own money so that it’s not just her money I am using. I help save on some of the costs in building by hanging the mirrors, laying the sod, cleaning out the houses, keeping the jobsite clean and safe, and other odd jobs. I have been currently assisting my mother in getting her real estate office up and running.
Some people think that I have had it easy, but I sincerely disagree. I remember when I was younger and we were dirt poor. I wanted so much to be something in this life, so I tried my hardest in school to get them high grades. I got them high grades all right, I ended up graduating #10 in my senior class with honors. I then went to school for pipe welding(I did quite well at it), and by the time I got done with the class I did some hard thinking. I asked myself do I really want to make a career out of this, yeah the money would be good, but working in extreme temperatures, risking life and limb, and not to mention having someone telling me what to do everyday. I did learn some things from the class, made a few friends, and I respect what welders do, it surely is no easy task.
This led me to getting my builder’s license and where I am today. I plan on eventually getting my commercial license, so that I have even more opportunity in this life. My goals in life at the moment (Not in any specific order)are to get a few super cars, nice house, a lady, apartment complexes, commercial real estate, etc. I am always open for ideas and suggestions, and I am always in pursuit of knowledge. I will eagerly help where I can.
PS: I would like to greatly thank MJ for creating this great forum, where well minded people can exchange ideas. (Not brown nosing. Lol)
