Is it that you are too good for it, or is it that you are overlooking its worth.
A trait that is especially important in everything, not just business, is to find worth in things that others don't always see.
I know MJ says "hope" is a bad biz plan, but seeing hope in simple tasks, in the fact that things are moving and changing, can inspire you to keep going. You never know, that stupid job you have to take might lead you places you never thought it could.
To stop, and allow a change in perspective, isn't something a normal person does. That isn't cuz they are stupid and deserve "rar rar rar", it is because they are vulnerable.
To me, it isn't so much about solving problems, but improving how you solve them.
Jumping on a band wagon, playing it safe might be right in specific contexts, but is it imaginative? Does it challenge you? Push you?
Have you examined it?
Its the ability to see worth in challenge, the ability to appreciate a leap in perspective, to want to look ahead fifty steps, and to say "it can be done". That makes it worth your time.
To think about what is "worthy" of our time is a great thing to do. But to avoid thinking, and to stay with an outdated concept that doesn't serve you or challenge you, is how you lose over and over again, because you aren't paying attention to what is around you and what can change.
And if you aren't careful, you live a life where you don't use your potential.
And to lose your potential because you are thinking off the top of your head "i'm too good for this", should frustrate you.
You should want to be free to judge what your own time is worth.
No act big or small is unworthy of you, if it is a part of your path. If it is a challenge, if it is something no one else will do, if its a monotonous task that others moan about, the probability is that you are doing the right things to succeed.
Do you want red carpets?
Or can you have the confidence to say "it is worth it, because I choose to do this".
It is hard to "get up" and "keep plugging away" at biz, and its hard to dig up all those weird reservations you have. But they aren't THAT scary once you do.
So, just give it a try.
Judge things off what works for you, and what doesn't, and test the limits.
There is no point creating an unwinnable game in your mind. Just let yourself figure it out, whatever way you need to.
Because knowledge is worth a hell of a lot more, than "the right answer" 99% of the time.
Don't be afraid that the leap is too big, because the leap is just you getting to the next mindset, the new outlook.
It takes character, to let go of that fear, and exchange it for innocent curiousity and wonder.
To look at what you've seen a thousand times, and to see something new.
If we act entitled, everything gets old. If you look from a perspective that isn't like that, everything is moving and growing and things seem possible.
And they ARE possible because you see it.
I used to think entrepenuers looked at the world and saw opportunity. But now I see that it is more like, EVERYONE has a choice.
See things in a new light, or suffer within the old view.
Which would you choose?
Entrepenuers are just some of the guys, that don't like the old BS.
Just like artists, inventors, innovators.
It is no less of a task, because it can deal with the mundane.
In some ways, thats why it is so courageous.
They look at what others fear to F*ck with. And then say, "it can be more than that", then do it.
Why wouldn't you want to be that way?
