That is fair, yes, some coaches can get you out of a rut with their experience. Tony probably does give 7 to 8 figure advice for his clients. But most coaches and even therapists will not be able to figure it out for you though. I think people are better off reading and meditation and trialing and errorring than expecting someone to give them the insight and answers they need. Plus someone with that level of expertise will be hard to reach and expensive, predating on people who are already low on resources who shouldn't be throwing money into a hole.this is a false belief.
more accurate = most people who coach should probably not be coaching.
the ones who should be can and would absolutely know how to solve problems and change your life in much less than an hour.
the conflict you'd run into would be whether the student would be willing to drop what they believe they 'know' to understand what that person is saying to them.
I think there is an overreliance on expecting a coach or therapist to feed you the answers vs you are already 90% successful and need someone to give you a little insight. I think the problem is the mindset that there is some magic solution out there they know that you don't and the learned helplessness that coaching industry gives to people.
The kind of student humble and aware enough to drop their limiting beliefs and existing knowledge to try something new would have very little overlap with the floundering, desperate, validation seeking people hoping for the magic insight that a coach can give them.
I think making friends may be more helpful than a coach, because a friend knows your history and has your back, doesn't need you to stay stuck in order to make money off your failures. If you need someone to believe in you and take a wider perspective of your life, make some friends. My closest friend was much more insightful than my coaches and therapists ever were because they knew my history, personality, and blindspots. While coaches and therapists see you an hour a week.
