Actions​

Today I met with Amazon in their offices and we had a detailed solution session about how to incorporate my software into their processes. There are a lot of updates:

1. I got to see their existing ASIN validation software, which they purchased from someone a few years ago and it is 'worthless'. Those are Amazon's words, not mine
2. We tested a batch of ASINs and came up with some tweaks to the software to suit their specific use case. I also got the chance to explain why some of the results look confusing and they understood the logic
3. We will do a large scale test using a control group and a test group of 100k ASINs each and Amazon will pay me for the test. They asked for a week to get all the internal approvals in order
4. Amazon also is looking for a software vendor for the core of my bot, which is the automated price update. There is another vendor that is price-gouging the other Amazon sellers and they are unhappy with him. I met the guy two years ago when this all started and thought he was a crook, so I made the software myself. So now Amazon wants an alternative vendor to get away from this person and asked me to propose some pricing. This is likely a much smaller opportunity than the ASIN validation, but could be a decent passive income if I get 10+ clients on the software. In any case Amazon is willing to provide me with free hot leads, so I don't need to do any marketing myself
5. My new license has been repeatedly rejected by Amazon because of the locale of my licensing body. This is a rule that is not documented anywhere on the Amazon website. I complained to them and they are going to petition for me to get approved to sell supplements as an exception to this secret rule
6. Due to some internal Amazon negotiations, old drop-shipper accounts, including my two old ones, should be reactivated with a clean slate on June 29. I'll believe it when I see it, but at least there is a chance. These old accounts are valuable because they have special status and they have a huge number of brands unlocked. If I get them back then I could potentially start selling in bulk again
7. On the soft-side I have built a lot of rapport within the team. One evidence of this (among many) was when I told them I had been downstairs in the cafe on a conference call for 90 minutes before our meeting. When they heard this they told me I should have just come up and used the Amazon office for my call. So they are treating me like a member of the team, which is a great sign

I want to acknowledge that some of you on this forum have been telling me to stop mining for gold and start selling shovels since the beginning and it looks like you were right about there being an opportunity!
