If instead of getting furious, you could get curious.
That was a choice.
Between stimulus and response is a decision. "What does this mean?"
I said:
"You need to get your a$$ to work.
Come back with some clarity and direction."
You thought that meant I was being a bozo and a wise guy.
Just because I'm hilarious, doesn't mean I'm not telling the truth. The truth is usually funnier than anything else.
Allow me to clarify. You said:
Lesson #1: the world and other people don't care about your needs. They care about themselves.
Zig Ziglar said "if you help enough other people get what they want, you'll get everything that you want."
Nobody is going to jump out of their seat when someone says, "I need a mentor. Give me it."
Well, I take that back. There are some weird a$$ people who will. Those are the exact people you would never want as a mentor.
Lesson #2: You can't expect others to take it seriously if you don't.
You came completely unprepared.
Take what seriously?
What are your goals?
What business are you in?
What is your situation?
What have you tried?
What worked/what didn't?
Why are you pursuing your current opportunity?
If you don't have an opportunity, why not?
Someone who is successful in business is normally NOT accessible (if they are, that's a red flag).
Someone who is accessible and NOT successful basically tells you why they aren't successful.
Someone who is accessible AND success is expensive.
You came out of the gate swinging your fists... probably not the best way to walk into a room (regardless of who they are).
Take it as a lesson in communication.
You need to work on it.
But here's the good news: most of us started with mentors that have been long dead through books, audio programs, and courses.
The benefit you have here is that the author of a set of FANTASTIC books is here... you pissed him off but you could turn that around if you got serious, read the books, took notes, and posted relevant questions about your particular situation, what you're trying to do, and what specific challenges you have.
Thanks for the reply, maybe I have the wrong idea of what this forum is about but I meant no harm. I was looking to pay for a mentor because I know that there are platforms that offer mentorship services for a fee but you can’t be to safe so I was looking for someone who may have had experience in this area. Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough, anyhow I appreciate your feedback and my apologies for my brash response, I thought you were trying to be offensive.
