I got an email just now, reminding me I haven't been around much. For those who are interested, I decided this was a good time to give a status update and at the same time say why I haven't been more vocal. Quite simply, I've been busy.
It's been a long haul, since I was introduced to the Fastlane Forum by a client who had found Held for Ransom's epic thread six years ago and convinced me we should switch from non-fiction to fiction. 36 novels and a couple of novellas long, in fact. All along, I've said it wasn't Fastlane, and I stand by that. Indie publishing breaks all the rules, including my primary one: that fastlane means as near to residual passive as possible, along with all of @MJ's rules. Writing is supposed to come with residual royalties, but the reality of indie publishing is it seldom does.
But that's okay. It has been fun, my client now has a solid backlist, and I've had an incredible education about writing and publishing. I'm going to do it again soon.
Now, however, I'm deep into something even dearer to my heart. It took me fifteen years to find something (ghostwriting and writing/publishing for myself) I could do online and make money at it for more than a few months, without going crazy with frustration or boredom. Bootstrapping a business, even one that isn't expensive to start, is no fun. Always scraping for enough money to pay the hosting bill, the internet bill, the bills for stuff you may have tried to teach yourself only to realize the money wasn't as important as the time. Yeah, I've been there, over and over.
I know a heck of a lot more about how to get stuff done now than I did twenty years ago, when I first decided I was never going to have a J.O.B. again. I'm still not an expert at most of it.
But I am an expert at one thing, and that's figuring that out. Using my time to best advantage is something else I've figured out along the way, and that's what this thread, today, is about.
I help busy, overextended entrepreneurs get off their hamster wheels. I work mostly with women, because most of us are primary caregivers and homemakers, as well as having our businesses or side gigs and sometimes a day job. We put ourselves last, and that's not okay.
I'm looking for ten women who are serious about making their life work despite all their obligations, finding a way to get it all done and still take care of themselves, and do it while growing their businesses.
If that's you, or you know someone like that, please visit my website (link in the signature) and check it out. I'm piloting my first online course, Jumpstart to Time and Stress Management, in the next few weeks. I've spent the last sixteen months making sure it's solid, valuable, and something that will truly transform my students' lives. I can only take ten for this pilot as there's a significant time commitment on my part to include live classes and coaching, but I'd love to have some be fellow travelers on the fastlane be a part of it.
And guys, I won't turn you away if the description except for gender fits you. My avatar just happens to fit more women.
