What is interesting about my business is that a lot of folks I have helping me along I have never met in person. Of course the members know each other personally but what I have been able to conjure up is a group of people who like what we are doing, where our business is going, and are willing to help out based on performance. I contract out to them and only pay them a percentage of what they bring my business. Most of them have full time day jobs.
I have a packet I personally mail them that describes their job position. I call it the Survival Guide. I also discuss how the business was formed and our goals. Then I layout our expectations etc. along with packages and prices for potential clients.
Now, this usually helps motivate them off the start.
I am looking for some ideas to help keep them motivated without getting them off track. I was thinking of having monthly contests based on performance. The only problem is there are only about 5 people right now and if the same person won over and over again that could drive a wedge into things. It's a lot easier to motivate people when you are standing in front of them and hold meetings, talks, etc.
Maybe I could do a weekly 30 minute online chat with them to discuss issues and answer questions. I have called some before and talked one on one which also helps.
Any other ideas???
