Greetings to all
I've made up my mind that I will use the internet/IM as my on-ramp towards the fastlane, so over the last few months I've picked up some basic html knowledge, and have combined it with my existing design knowledge to create my first articles/affiliate site to promote breakup products.
I'm from a CG Artist background so this is a whole new territory for me. I'm using this as a first step towards understanding html, web-hosting, and also internet marketing as a whole. Just to get warmed up so to speak.
For the past week, I've managed to launch the site after figuring it out with some live chat help. And now I'm wondering about how to drive traffic and would also love to hear what you veterans think about my current efforts, and how I can improve or which direction you think I should head towards that would benefit a person of my current caliber.
Bear in mind, in no way I'm asking to be spoon-fed. I'd love an honest opinion or critique. Whatever that will help me grow faster, or perhaps point out something that I'm totally oblivious to.
I have other plans to run other websites that will serve as a platform for my other target audience, but with the current knowledge that I have on web programming I believe I need a reasonable amount of time to begin my journey into the realms of javascripting, user-submitted content hosting, e-cart embedding, and so much more.
So without further ado, here's my first attempt at website creation x affiliate site: Undo Breakup
I chose to create a website from scratch as a learning process as well as to have as much control over how I can develop the site in the coming weeks and months instead of relying on ready-template sites like blogspot.com or wordpress.com. I plan to use them to serve me nonetheless in the near future, after I've become better-versed at understanding this whole game of internet marketing and platform creation.
The current stage I'm in: Attempting to drive traffic to my site using a little Facebook Ad Campaign, StumbleUpon Traffic Campaign, and learning about SEO (This is like reading alien language to me.)
Target: At least score 1-5 affiliate sale within 30 days of launch. Just to see if the site can convert some sales through this idea.
With that said, I'm all eyes and ears Let me know what you think I should add, and how I can optimize my source codes neater and what-nots. Thanks in advance!
