I've decided to start this thread to keep track of my progress as me and my partner are going into the vending machine business. I figured it would have some value as there weren't too many posts related to this.
My goal:
- To leverage two days of work to provide five days of free time.
- To move into property options.
How?
- Site vending machines at premium locations.
- If unable to service, place an option on it.
- Build up multiple vending routes and either use them or package them to sell.
My expenses so far:
- $2000 for 20 snack machines
- $290 relocation
- $20 on ebooks on vending from Kindle
Goals this week:
- Finalise location agreement forms and get them signed off [I'm about to land an account for placement of candy machines (m&ms, skittles, peanut m&ms) using work connections. This is at a location where there's 30-40 staff working at any one time, opened seven days a week. The good news is when this goes through, i'll be able to replicate this process at other locations by the same company (up to 50 sites). There's a humongous potential to be able to put this in an area of high foot traffic (in front of a couple hundred of people per week) at each of these sites, which is going to require a bit of savvy. More about this later...]
- Source machines and stock for above.
- Work out a sales copy and a way to scale this up effectively [This is a big question i've been mulling over, how can we make this an effective system? Appointment setter, salesperson, vending operator... we'll have to see]
A little about myself..
I'm currently in sales, last year been awarded as top salesperson of the country for a sales competition, just recently stepped down from being a sales manager to only working a couple days of the week due to one of my children requiring some pretty heavy medical care for his ongoing chronic and multiple disabilities. He's been in the hospital five months out of seven this year, the last two weeks in intensive care, which brings me to the why. On top of being able to spend time with the family, I feel an enormous sense of gratitude for the care he's had under the various doctors, medical professionals and the hospital and would love to set up a system in place where I can make charitable contributions for their massive impact they've had on our family.
Thanks for reading!
